Sales Tax & Reseller Certificate Submission
Pacific Northwest Sanitary (PNW Sanitary) collects sales tax on orders shipping to locations where it is required by law. Qualified businesses may request tax-exempt purchasing by submitting a valid resale or exemption certificate before placing an order.
Who Should Submit a Reseller or Exemption Certificate?
You may be eligible for tax-exempt status if you are purchasing on behalf of a:
- Brewery or beverage producer
- Food, dairy, or ingredient processing facility
- Pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturer
- Industrial or OEM manufacturer
- Distributor, fabricator, or reseller of sanitary components
If you are unsure whether your organization qualifies, please consult your state’s Department of Revenue or your internal accounting/tax team.
What You’ll Need
Please have the following ready before submitting your request:
- A valid state resale certificate or sales tax exemption certificate
- Your business name and primary contact name
- Your billing and shipping address
- The email address associated with your PNW Sanitary account
Certificates must be current, legible, and complete. We are unable to approve applications with missing information or unreadable documents.

By submitting this form, you confirm that the information and documentation provided are accurate and that your organization is eligible for tax-exempt purchasing under applicable state law.
What Happens After You Submit
Once we receive your certificate and account details, our team will:
- Verify that the certificate is valid and complete
- Match the certificate to your PNW Sanitary customer account
- Update your account to reflect tax-exempt status (if approved)
You will receive a confirmation email once your tax-exempt status is active. Please allow 1–2 business days for review and processing.
How Tax-Exempt Orders Work
- You must be logged into your approved account at checkout for tax exemption to apply.
- Orders placed as a guest will not reflect your tax-exempt status.
- Sales tax may still apply to shipments going to locations not covered by your certificate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you refund tax on an order I already placed?
No. We are not able to retroactively remove or refund sales tax on orders that were completed before your exemption documentation was submitted and approved.
Do you accept blanket or multi-state certificates?
We can accept blanket or multi-jurisdiction certificates when allowed by your state or region. If you are unsure which form is required, please consult your state’s Department of Revenue.
What if my business information changes?
If you change your business name, address, or tax registration, a new or updated certificate may be required. Please contact us so we can help you update your account and documentation.
